Exploring the link between how past experiences shape the present

Welcome to Sally Welch Counselling

Counselling in Horsham, West Sussex and Online

Sometimes we need a safe confidential space to explore what's troubling us. We can feel stuck in patterns that do not serve us well, or struggle to make sense of our thoughts and feelings.

As a Psychodynamic Counsellor my aim is to work with clients to uncover and understand the influence of unconscious past experiences on current thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. By fostering a collaborative and secure environment, I encourage clients to explore their feelings and thought patterns, facilitating insights that enable meaningful connections between their history and present challenges. This process empowers individuals to promote personal growth and healing.

About Me

I felt drawn towards qualifying as a therapist due to my own experiences of therapy and the transformative effects of self-awareness. This personal journey helped me understand both the courage it takes to seek support and the profound impact that therapeutic work can have on one's life.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a BACP member, I adhere to their strict ethical framework and professional standards, ensuring I provide the highest quality of care to my clients.

Counselling

A Safe, Confidential Space

Counselling takes place in a dedicated, private environment where confidentiality is paramount. As a BACP registered therapist, I follow strict ethical guidelines to ensure your privacy is protected. My aim is to foster a strong therapeutic relationship, creating a secure foundation where you can explore your thoughts and feelings freely.

A Place to be Heard

In our fast-paced world, we rarely experience being fully heard and understood. Therapy offers a unique space where you are listened to with complete attention and presence. Together, we create a collaborative environment where your experiences are valued and your feelings are contained and processed at your own pace. This deep level of attentive listening helps bring clarity to complex emotions and experiences.

Your Unique Story

Each person's story is distinct, shaped by their individual experiences, beliefs, and perspectives. I appreciate and work with all aspects of who you are, tailoring my approach to your specific needs and circumstances. While we may hold tightly to familiar patterns and beliefs, the potential for change is always present. Our work together creates a space where new understandings can emerge and different possibilities can be explored.
