Psychodynamic Counselling in Horsham and Online

Sally Welch, counsellor in Horsham and Online

About Me

I felt drawn towards qualifying as a therapist due to my own experiences of therapy and the transformative effects of self-awareness. This personal journey helped me understand both the courage it takes to seek support and the profound impact that therapeutic work can have on one's life.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). As a BACP member, I adhere to their strict ethical framework and professional standards, ensuring I provide the highest quality of care to my clients.

My experience spans multiple settings, enriching my practice and understanding of mental health support.

I've worked as a volunteer counsellor with a community-based counselling group, which has given me valuable insight into supporting people from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. Additionally, my work within the NHS primary care sector in a mental health role has deepened my understanding of various mental health challenges and the importance of tailored, compassionate support.

My Approach

I believe in creating a therapeutic space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. Through psychodynamic counselling, we work together to understand how past experiences might influence present-day challenges, helping to bring unconscious patterns into awareness. This understanding can lead to meaningful and lasting change.

Continuing Professional Development

As part of my commitment to providing the best possible support for my clients, I regularly engage in professional development and clinical supervision. This ensures my practice remains current and effective, while always maintaining the high standards expected of a BACP registered therapist.
