Psychodynamic Counselling in Horsham and Online

Taking the First Step Together

I understand that reaching out for counselling support can feel daunting. For that reason I offer a free 30-minute initial consultation, either online or by phone, where we can explore what brings you to therapy and discuss how I might help.

This informal conversation gives you the opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of how we might work together. It's also a chance for us to ensure that my approach aligns with your needs. I aim to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours, and there's no obligation to proceed with further sessions after our initial discussion.

What Issues Can Counselling Help With?

People seek counselling for many different reasons, and there's no "right" or "wrong" reason to pursue therapy. You might be dealing with a specific challenge or crisis, experiencing feelings you don't fully understand, or simply wanting to know yourself better. Sometimes the issue that brings you to counselling might feel overwhelming, while other times you might wonder if your concerns are "serious enough" for therapy. What matters is that you've recognised a desire for support and understanding.

Each person's experience is unique, and I offer a non-judgmental space to explore whatever is troubling you. While the following list includes some common reasons people seek counselling, it's not exhaustive, and your specific situation may involve multiple areas or concerns not listed here:

  • Feelings of stress or anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Relationship problems
  • Grief, loss or bereavement
  • Problems with addiction
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress
  • Abuse
  • Depression
  • Problems with confidence or self-esteem
  • Anger management
  • Issues relating to sexuality
  • Difficulties at work or in retirement
